Our new troop is doing more backpacking than "car camping" and I'm
considering the purchase of a backpacking tent. While I am in a 608
contingent in '05 for Philmont, I intend to use a Philmont tent as I did in
'01, so what I buy likely won't go to Philmont, but will be used on all the
shakedown campouts.
I've been looking at Campmor's array of 3 season aluminum frame tents and
need some clarification. If the pole material is listed as "DAC Pressfit
7001 Aluminum" or "DAC Featherlite 7001 Aluminum", what exactly does that
describe? My current tents are all shock-corded fiberglass poles...
Thanks to the group for all the advice and insights. I really enjoy reading
the messages I've received while on the list.
