I also just found out from a very experienced hiker that Vaseline your feet
every morning during the trek will also prevent blisters.

If you get everyone to vaseline their feet every night for a week before the
trek, you won't have any blisters. "an ounce of prevention...". Anyway, all
you need is some duct tape to cover hot spots.
