RE: [Philmont]: Philmont Weather

Did we ever figure out what we're looking at?

The school looks like it's on the corner of town, just N of US64 -- the
address I found was on 9th St, which appears to dead-end into a school site
(looking at MapPoint 2004 maps).

If you look at the 06/07/2004 20:00 photo, it looks like the sun is setting
behind the peak in the center of the image.

Using Delorme Topo 5.0, the 3D model looks like it might be Black Mountain,
but if one of you on the list knows how to calculate where the sun sets from
a given point, we could figure it out conclusively.

The photo is definitely not Kansas. :-)

Mostly sunny in the morning then becoming partly cloudy. Isolated showers
and thunderstorms late in the afternoon. Highs in the 80s to mid
90s...except in the upper 70s to mid 80s over the higher elevations.
Southwest winds 10 to 15 mph shifting to the south 10 to 20 mph in the
afternoon.

Tonight
Partly cloudy. Isolated showers and thunderstorms in the evening. Lows in
the 50s to lower 60s...except around 50 over the higher elevations.
South winds 10 to 20 mph in the evening.

Wednesday
Partly cloudy. Isolated showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon.
Breezy. Highs in the 80s to lower 90s...except in the upper 70s over the
higher elevations. South winds 10 to 15 mph increasing to 15 to 25 mph in
the afternoon. Gusts up to 35 mph.

Wednesday Night
Partly cloudy. Isolated showers and thunderstorms. Breezy. Lows in the
50s...except in the upper 40s over the higher elevations. South winds 10 to
20 mph increasing to 15 to 25 mph after midnight. Gusts up to 35 mph.

70s over the higher elevations. Southwest winds 15 to 25 mph shifting to the
west 20 to 30 mph in the afternoon. Gusts up to 40 mph.

Mostly clear. Windy...cooler. Lows in the 40s to lower 50s.

Partly cloudy. Breezy. Highs in the upper 70s to lower 90s.
