Great suggestion Bob! I was logistics manager for a high adventure camp and I ALWAYS had someone showing up a day early I didn't know about! Sometimes those communications just don't get to the right people!

A reminder of one of my previous posts - if you want to show up early,
remember to arrange it well in advance with the Ranch, and then confirm
it a day or two before you're scheduled to arrive. Keep in mind, the
Basecamp Staff has to keep a lot of balls in the air at once, and
accommodations like this can slip through the cracks. When you make
your confirming call just before you arrive, it would probably be
worthwhile to ask if you will need to camp in your trail tents in
No-Man's Land (between the Trailbound and Homebound tent cities), or if
you'll get platform tents. If the latter, you may wish to ask if the
Welcome Center is aware of the arrangement, and if possible see if you
can chat with the Welcome Center to ensure that they know you're coming
and of how many tents you'll need (be aware, the W-C is often a complete
zoo, and the Staff may have no time to talk with you when you call; if
so, try again later). A little leg-work can save you (and the Staff)
some serious heartburn down the road.
