I can't believe that you think all of the adults would ever egree on
anything. LOL
My two cents on your tent question. My son and I shared a tent on our trek.
I'm 6'2", and 250 lbs, my son was pretty big also. The standard Philmont
tent worked for us. When you pick up your tents at Base camp, inspect them very
closely. One of the tents we were issued had two holes in it, and we returned
it for a better one. Just make sure your guy lines are tight right before
you go to bed. Wind and rain will rock the tent if the guy lines are not tight.
Otherwise, it worked well for us.
