RE: [Philmont]: Orange Plastic Trowels was "backpacks and observations"

The ground at PSR is generally hard and rocky. In my experience scouts
can over stress any item of gear. We have tent stakes that look like
pretzels after our trek.

Our orange plastic trowels have survived numerous training hikes and two
treks to Philmont over the last 3 years, so I consider them "very
tough". Our orange trowel received regular use this year in all types
of soil. Even though Red Roofs and open boxes were plentiful, there are
always a few out of 12 that are out of sync with the "plush facilities".

For a few more $$ and a little extra weight the folding metal trowel
looks pretty good.
