Larry,

If you saw the Cinnamon Bear on Friday, June 14th, 2002, we would have seen
it on Monday, June 17th.

I remember it was Monday, only because we made Mt. Phillips on Father's Day
which should have been Sunday, May 16th in the early afternoon. This was
memorable since both myself and the Dan the other advisor had our sons with us and
I had the other scouts call home on my "illegal" cell phone. Those that made
it through, spoke of being higher than the firefighting planes and helicopter.

If the bear was sniffing your sump...it must have remembered when it came by
our site on Monday...Hmmmm.

To much dismay of other commentaries on my last posting. We did follow all
the bear precautions as recommended. We followed this to the point of putting
one on my scouts backpack up on the bear line as he had a bag drink mix break
loose and then got wet.

We sumped, we changed clothes after dinner, we didn't use deodorant or salves
or sunscreen after 5pm, we followed the new modification to the rules (due to
a death of a scout who couldn't make to the bear bag in the middle of the
night) allowing inhalers in the tents if put in a shoe and covered with a sock,
we tented in clusters, etc....etc...etc...

Hope this helps.
