Re: [Philmont]: Storage lockers, Tenting,

Staying away from "rules" for a second, I believe the boys should tent with the boys and the adults with other adults. This gives the adults a little extra peace and quiet and it frees the boys a little more to be boys.

I have seen some conversations that indicate several crews have gone to larger tents and slept >2 boys per tent. The only issues with that would be coming into a constrained campsite where there might not be a place for the bigger tent, plus the easy access of most 2 person tents now would be lost on 3 people.

I slept as an adult single last year but I complied with the "2 man tent" rule. I might actually downsize into a 1.5 man tent next year, but I was willing to carry the extra weight and when the crew chief asked me to carry stuff, I was still able to do that. If 2 adults want to co-tent then that's the "Philmont way" but if you want to go solo in a tent, and it's not a bivy tent, then you have that latitude.

Unknown on the lockers, we drove in last year so were able to use our vehicles as storage lockers.
