[Philmont]: Foot problem

One of my scouts mentioned, last night at a final meeting, that he had a
"planters wart" on the bottom of his left foot. Said that it only hurt (stabbing
pain) occasionally, because it was in an out of the way location. Wanted to
know my opinion on removal before this trek. Day one is 7/14. We (the leaders
at the meeting) decided that the pain would be less, if removed, but to check
with his doctor and move fast on removal if he concurred. Any help?
