I just got back from PTC today. While there, I visited with some of the
rangers and staff at CHQ. There is lots of water at Philmont this year due to
snowfall and rain. Conservation projects seem to centered on trail repair
work. There are several locations around the ranch where this is happening.
The first crews on the ranch were diverted from Baldy due to deep snow. They
are now allowing crews to climb Baldy. There is still lots of snow visible on
both Touch me not and Baldy. There is lots of snow on Wheeler Peak, and the
peaks that are visible in Colorado.
