Hey Andre....
You just got back from Trek 4? Would you share information about your trek with me? E-mailing me directly would probably be best.

First, you should know that by the time you get in, (it's a 2 to 3 hour hike), get you gear turned, in, get tents, and get all checked out, your time will have somewhat evaporated. Don't forget there is a closing campfire too. Also, to save money, most homebound troops eat in the dining hall (they let homebounds have seconds, so the boys get satisfied).
That being said, Philmont will offer free bus rides into cimarron for whatever reason, just don't miss the one bringing you back. Another good possibility is a tour of the Seeton Museum, or Villa Philamonte, both good places to go that are close by. And of course, you'll want to buy one or two items :-) from the Trading Post.

Philmonters....
With our crew camped on Tooth Ridge the last night out, we will arrive back
into base camp relatively early. This will give us a fair amount (almont a
day and a half) of free time before departing Raton on the train at 5:30 the
following afternoon.
What should we do?
