[philmont] Water Filers/Pumps

Kevin,
 
You have opened a can of worms. This is always a hot topic each summer on
this list. My crews use the First Need Purifier, and have had very good luck
with it. Several other crews at Philmont did not use filters, and sometimes
the water was pretty muddy looking.
 
Personally, I am a fan of the filters, but use them before you arrive, so
you know what to expect. We also use disposable coffee filters over the inlet
to avoid clogging up the filter.
