[philmont] Water Filters

Hey Y'all

I was at summer camp last week and am just catching up on e-mails before
leaving again on Tuesday for Philmont.

I took Jim Moss's advice and got one of the Sawyer in-line filters. I
hooked it up to an MSR dromedary with a hydration kit. Works great. We
fill the dromedary, hang it in a tree and let it drain into a 2.5 gallon
container.

We also use a MSR mini water works for pumping out of shallow holes or
other difficult places.

The Sawyer is a pretty cool little filter. You can back-flush it with a
hydration bladder of clean water and wash it out to prolong it's life.

Thanks Jim
