I bought an inexpensive Fuji A303 that used AA batteries. I bought the photo
type batteries and took an extra set. Turning off the lcd screen and having
a view finder will save battery power. This worked well and I had to change
batteries on the last day. I also took this camera to Northern Tier and it has
worked great. I would recommend you take a AA battery camera as you will not
be able to recharge your batteries and they are also much lighter. You can
probably find a good one on Ebay for less than $100 now in the 3-4 mega pixels
range.
