Not holding water for a ground sheet isn't necessarily a bad thing. If
the Tyvek is permeable, if water runs onto the ground sheet, it can soak
through to the ground below rather than puddle under the tent floor (or
soak through the tent floor). If it is only semi-permeable, you get the
same effect, it just takes longer, and is still slightly better than if
the ground sheet was impermeable.
Anyway, that's my take on the matter, and why I use a Tyvek ground
sheet. Plus it lets me have a clean place to lie down and find all the
"ouwies" before I set up my tent. YMMV
