[Philmont] Footwear question

I know Philmont's stand on sandals, but how do they view then new breed
of closed toe sandals....

I have minor feet issues; Tailor's Bunion, not bad but after walking
with 30+ lbs of weight for 6-8 hours the sides of my feet get swollen
due to the constant rubbing. These new cross breed shoes do not cause
your feet to sweat anywhere near as much as even trail shoes, but are
listed as sandals.
 
any thoughts?
