[Philmont] Footwear question

The picture of the sandles shows they are open at the back. I personally
would not want to wear these on the trail as I look for all around protection
of my feet when on trails like those at Philmont.

As to what Philmont will allow, you would do well to ask them ahead of
time. Email them the link to the picture and get their opinion.

(who both times wore hiking boots, although around camp wore
the boots with the laces not tightly bound in order to let the feet move more
freely in the boot which allowed the feet to breathe)
