[Philmont] Footwear question

I used these for my "CAMP" shoes in 2003 and plan to use them this summer too. No one said anything in 2003.
 
 
I wanted these in 2003 after having to "wet foot" cross a lot of streams in 1999. Happy there are LOTS of bridges to use now.
 
Wouldn't want to hike full time in them, taking lots of duct tape in case I blow out a boot.
