[Philmont] Slogans

We had a bunch of cross country runners with our crew in '04. They had
a boot with teeth between the boot and it's sole with the slogan "My
Boots Have More Miles Than Your Car." While not a Philmont shirt, our
summer trek last year had a waterfall and the slogan "Only Wussies
Purify." The latter was in response to a troop we'd encountered on the
trail a few years earlier who looked with scorn on our water purifier,
explaining that "if you take it from the part that's running real fast,
you don't need to purify it." One of the girls responded with: "Can
you spell giardia?" (no, the slogan didn't make sense to me, either,
but I only get a veto if the connotations include drugs, sex, alcohol
or Brittany Spears). My all-time favorite, though, is "Same Shirt,
Different Day."

A slogan more appropriate to Northern Tier
was on a shirt that said “Paddle faster!  I hear banjo music.”
