I think it would be sad for someone to not make the Baldy hike. What a
great experience that is.

Subject: [Philmont]: Side hikes
Can crews split up for side hikes at Philmont - that is, some people stay in
camp while others go on the hike? My crew will be a real mix of ages and
abilities. I thought a good way to accommodate people would be to allow
some of the less adventuresome to remain in camp while the more active
pursued a side hike. Specifically, itinerary 3 from last year provides for
2 nights at Copper Park, with a side hike to Baldy on the second day. Could
half the crew remain in camp while the other half hiked Baldy?
