Actual Drive time is approximately 4.5 hours, give or
take a bit, depending on speed, traffic, soda/bathroom
breaks, etc.
I've no idea what any form of charter or shuttle to
Cimarron on your first day and back to Denver on the
last day would run. Such service may or may not be
cheaper than a rental car.
Consider this also. Your Wed. will most likely be a
no class day, and although you can probably find
another Scouter to hook up with that day to go
exploring and site seeing, you may prefer to have the
rental car so you have the maximum freedom to decide
what you're going to go enjoy on the off day (it will
also make you very popular with folks who took the
train in and don't have a car. 8^)
Having a slight sweet tooth addiciton myself, having a
vehicle at PTC comes in very handy for a sudden
inspirational (well, ok, in my case, a planned for
hours, lol) slip into Cimarron to enjoy the ice cream
stand inside the Cimarron Art Gallery after classes or
as an extra dessert after the evening meal.
Enjoy PTC, it's a great place to recharge batteries
and share wonderful fellowship with other Scouters.
Oh yeah, the conferences are very good too!
