Not true that I know. However, you may want to take a look at why you want
to take a filter, when Polar Pure works just fine. Filters can break and
clog. Plus, most filters take at least a minute or more to pump one quart of
water. Multiply that by 24 quarts for a 12 person crew and you will have
arms like Popeye when you get home. I have a filter that I use when I'm on
the trail by myself. It is quick and it gets the job done. When I go to
Philmont, I use Polar Pure. Just my .02 worth.
