As recently mentioned, each bottle of Polar Pur is limited on the amount of
water it can treat before it needs to be recharged & ready to go again.
Philmont's standard issue of Polar Pur is one bottle per every two crew
members. I have found this to be insufficient at times when there is a need
to be well supplied when facing a day's hike thru dry routes. To compensate
I usually bring two personal bottles along as extras. Polar Pur is
relatively inexpensive & I use it when not at PHilmont too.
