Greetings All,
 
The current thread on smellable in tents, particularly Troop tents, hit a note
with me.
 
 Even if your Troop will never go backpacking or camping in any area where bears
frequent the campgrounds, they should be careful about food in tents. Raccoons
and skunks can damage a tent almost as fast as a bear can. And mice attracted
to the smell of a leftover PB&J sandwich can ruin a lot of nylon chewing holes
in a stack of tent trying to find the "goodie". And Troop storage areas are
often in very mouse accessable areas.
 
That's what *dining* flies are for and why they are called *dining* flies - at
Philmont and elsewhere.
 
Maybe you should put "No Flames and No Food in Tents" on your tentage.
