Hi,
I'm new to the group, so please forgive what I suspect is a frequent
question.
I'm going to be attending PTC this summer and I'm bringing along my
family. It is the first time to Philmont for all of us. Can you tell me
what to expect and how to prepare? I know that's pretty broad, but I'd
like to be as prepared as I can, especially when it comes to getting my
kids fired up for the trip. My daughter is 10 (she'll turn 11 while we are
there) and my son is 8 (turning 9 this summer). Both are involved in
Scouting, my daughter being a Jr. Girl Scout and my son in Cub Scouts. My
son is young for his grade, so he actually will be a first year Webelos as
of June 1.
- What will the weather be like (typically) in the 3rd week of June?
- What activities will the kids be involved in?
- What should we see while we are out there? We'll have a week of vacation
before arriving at Philmont, traveling from Minnesota.
- How many kids are typically there in my kids' age groups (we'll be there
during a "Cub Scout" program week)?
- Any other advice or information you feel would be helpful to us?
Thanks!
