If registered Venturers are in a crew together, the 18-20 year olds are
considered youth members. By_the_book YP guidelines would allow them to
tent with younger crew members of the same sex of registered Venturers. If
you have a situation in a Philmont crew where the 18-20 might be a Venturer
but it is a *Boy Scout Troop* crew, then the other members of that Philmont
crew should be treated with the age guidelines for Troops & anyone under 18
is a youth, 18+ adult, and the tent-sharing stops at that line. Bend the
rule, and you have fallen outside of the BSA guidelines for safe scouting.
Does it call for some unnatural situations, such as siblings not tenting
together due to adult/youth age variations. Sure it does. But for those
who care what the guidelines call for, they can't.
