All the hassle about ages of crew members who can sleep with other crew
members points out the confusing standards BSA has put into place. Since all
Philmont crews have a youth that are of Venturing age, it seems ridiculous to
be separating a 17 year old brother from his 18 year old brother. I can
understand that you would not want 19 year olds tenting with 11 year olds,
but we now trying to count the number of angels that can dance on the edge of
a pin. When you were at Cyphers Mine and your crew was sleeping in a single
Adirondack shelter, did you set up tarps to divide the sleeping areas into
male-female, 20 and under and 21 and over.

I know I will get flamed for how I feel, but I think I could trust two
brothers in the same tent.
