Not a strictly Philmont question, but...
Who's taken responsibility for a scout with diabetes?
Have they gone to Philmont? At age 14, or 18?
How about having a diabetic scout in a troop, in general?
(Last night was our intro to Boy Scouts for the Webelos, one of whom
has diabetes. The kid is interested, and the mother is interested and
wary. We do twelve trips a year including summer camp, and probably
six of them have us camping more than two miles from any road. My
(wife's) recollection from First Aid training is either don't do it,
or always have his parent come along. So what's the collected net
wisdom?)
