Re: [Philmont]: short treks

We had an 8 day trek last summer. It was custom arranged in
logistics. On the trek selection postcard that you get, you don't
select a trek, you select preferred program activities. I didn't see
that the guy helping us with our trek had that info at his fingertips,
but maybe he did.

In one of the mailings from Philmont there was a list of programs at
each camp. I found it helpful to outline potential treks - for our
crew that was five mile days to activities they wanted. We didn't do
anything like those potential treks, but the process was helpful.
When we got to Philmont, however, the "water board" took paramount
importance. We never wanted two nights in a row without water.

| Our crew is doing a short trek in August 7-17. Question is has anyone done
| one of these and if so how are the treks adjusted for the 2 less days? This
| will give us some more information to use in finalizing our trek selections.
