...the Cummings have been FORCED to work at Hunting Lodge for the past two
or three years. Glenn and his wife made the perfect hosts for this camp.

Let me offer you my envy that you know the Cummings' personally. They were
a highlight of our trek, and really made a big impression on our crew. I'm
sure they will do a wonderful job at Fish Camp, but their effort to bring
alive the memories of the Hunting Lodge were tremendous and hard for me to
fathom anyone else doing it.

Our crew in 2001 did the Hidden Valley / Window Rock sidehike from Cito with
the Environmental Awareness staffer (killing two birds with one stone). So
we were on his schedule, and started out at 2 p.m. We got to Hunting Lodge
at 4:30, and the Cummings already had their dinner on the stove. We had a
fairly long visit with them and the full tour, as did the crew that came in
after us. And they had dinner a little later than they planned.

We got back to Base Camp on a Saturday morning, and went into town on the
bus that afternoon. Coming out of the The Old Mill museum, Glenn, his wife,
and their out-of-town daughter (another daughter was on staff in the North,
maybe at Ponil(?)) were walking up, so we got a second chance to visit.

While we missed the evening program at Hunting Lodge (where I understand
they actually dressed and acted as Waite and Genevieve Phillips), I
understand that it was excellent. And I'm sure that they will bring an
extra touch to the tour of Rayado Lodge (Fish Camp).
