What happened to Pennican Bars? I'm going to feel lost without them...at
least they have pilot biscuits.
Anyone know where to get them?

Subject: RE: [Philmont]: 2003 Trail Menu
Seldon Ball has the latest trail menu for the upcoming season. Notice that
the extra packets of crackers seem to have been eliminated from the dinners.
This extra weight and bulk was a difficulty last year. Several advisors
complained that Philmont gave too much food. The swap boxes overflowed. It
is interesting. At the beginning of the trek, it is sometimes difficult for
the crew to consume all of the food. By the end of the trek, there are
almost no leftovers because the body needs the food because it is burning so
much. In base camp, even the extra peanut butter and jelly gets devoured!!
One year at the closing campfire, they did a skit about the Philmont Diet.
It is true. Last year, my next door neighbor lost 10 pounds while I only
lost 4 pounds.
At any rate, the menu is at
http://www.lns.cornell.edu/~seb/philmont.html#2.4.6 if anyone is interested
in reviewing it with their dietitian.
Thanks again to Seldon for posting it on his web!!
