[Philmont]: CD

The CD Philmont sent to crews going in the summer of 2003 is the Philmont
Interactive Ranger. It is new for 2003. It has all 35 itineraries covering
over 3,000 miles. It has trail profiles for the complete itinerary or a
single day. The topo maps (1:24000) have a new hill-shaded 3D version.
There is also aerial photos of the ranch. The detail on the aerial photos is
not great. This new CD is great for preTrek planning. We have a new crew
leader each day (crew leader du jour). Thus each crew leader plans their day
with a trail profile, mileage, vertical up or down and points of interest
using the CD. Great way to get the entire crew involved.
