> In 1991, I shot 14 rolls (36 exp.) of 100 ISO [is that better, Jim ;) ] Fujichrome slide film. Although that film tends to render more on the blue-green end of the spectrum, sunsets, rainbows, and daytime shots all came out great. Didn't carry a polarizer, but just underexposed by 1/3 stop to get those deep blue skies.

> In 1998, I shot only 4 rolls (36 exp.) of ISO 200 Kodak Gold negative film. At the time, I was mourning the unexpected loss of my only infant son 4 months earlier, so wasn't really in the mood to shoot pictures. Picture quality was acceptable, but not that of the slower slide film.

> What happened after both adventures, however, was the same: Requests for enlargements and reprints. In the end--even with placing controls on reqests--I was still running crazy getting different things done for different people at different times. Drove me nuts! Figured I could take advantage of computers and ready-made CD's this time around.

> I've been in photography for almost 20 years, including 6 years as a professional wedding photographer. I'd love to carry my medium-format outfit, but that's another off-line thread. I was hoping to shoot some possible wall-size enlargement-quality images this time around, while still being able to address the wants and needs of the entire crew. You've all given some great tips; I'll consider them all.
Here's what I did last summer. It was my second trip. On my first trip there were a lot of hassles with making reprints, collecting money, etc.
I myself went digital, but came up with a solution that works for both. I set up an account on Costco, which is really Kodak. I uploaded my pictures to the account, and did some moderate editing (I actually left the original and the edit on the site). For any in the crew, I encouraged them to get their film developed at Costco and check the "upload" box on the envelope. I imported those pictures into the account. Anyone who didn't want to use Costco got CD made with their pictures. I uploaded these. The crew then had the info on the account, and they ordered their own pictures, taking me out of the loop.
We also have plans (not done yet) to take the entire lot of pictures and burn them on CD for each person.
Costco isn't your only option for doing this, but it appeared to be the cheapest, I have a membership, and I have been very happy with their print quality, whether from film or digital.
