A yum-yum bag is what any scraps of food goes in. This should be just
what is left on the sump Frisbee after washing if all the food is eaten
and everyone licks their bowls. Before you ask, a sump Frisbee is a
Frisbee with small holes that you filter your wash water through.

In 2001 we had no trouble with the fuel, but we did filter, so to me it
is not a big issue. But if you were on the crew that got bad fuel, it
would be a big issue. I think that is a rare experience. In 2003 we
used the Coleman Powermax fuel (also available in the backcountry) -
that eliminates the problem entirely.

My favorite 2nd pair of shoes is a pair of very lightweight running
shoes. Comfortable and decent foot protection walking around camp and
to some activities (you can't brand your boots while you are wearing
them).

What is a yum-yum bag? I also see a lot of chat about filtering fuel.
Does Philmont really have that bad of supply of fuel? Any
recommendations of a second pair of shoes to pack? So many questions,
so little time!
