There should be plentiful flights from St. Louis to Albuquerque on a Sunday.
And then he could get a rental car at the airport and drive it to Cimmarron
in roughly four hours. There doesn't seem to be any transportation reason
that he can't connect with your crew on the day of arrival.

So, the cost of keeping both his personal commitment and his crew commitment
are the airfare and rental car for two weeks. Given that, he needs to decide
whether he can afford to maintain both commitments.
