I think these are simply the best stoves you can get.

I would definately send it back to Coleman if it's defective. I've
purchsed a half dozen PowerMax stoves for our troop (one two burner
model). All have worked flawlessly (even in the snow!). I've not seen
any difference between those that were made for the Japanese market and
those that I purchase before (for the domestic market), except for the
metal tag with Japanese writing attached to one leg, and the nifty plastic
case.
