In addition to Cal's comments, you may be able to get a prior year's Council
Planning Guide from Philmont if you call. It is very helpful if you have never
planned a trek. (Being a novice, I found it so!) It contains time frames for
recruiting, parent meetings, valuable travel info, medical risk advisory, etc.
