Re: [Philmont]: GORP- PHILMONT SNACKS

Varies by year. The number of meal packets containing gorp also varies
by year - you may not get all that much of it. Quality ("Any Good?") is
too subjective a criteria to rate. Some years I would call it
excellent, other years less so - but I always ate my allotments. That's
me, and as I have noted before, as a bachelor I am one of the few people
who food intake quality goes up (significantly) when I go on a Scout
outing. Ahem. But I've never seen my Scouts turn it down.

The best judge of overall "eatability" of any food item at Philmont is
how much of it you find in the swap boxes. On this basis, gorp is a
rarely seen - and therefore favored - item.
