As an advisor I didn't pick it. My crew leader, 3 treks, a cavalcade, and Rayado under his belt worked with the crew to pick the trek base upon the areas the other experienced (2) trekkers had been, the activities, and this advisor's request to repeat Baldy again after 32 years if possible.
Using the '03 book they picked the 5 treks they most wanted to do and ranked them. Upon arrival of the '04 book the crew leader verifed the selections had no significant changes and immediately mailed the card back next day delivery via USPS.
