[Philmont]: Shipping to Philmont and other things

Last September for an Autumn Adventure trip, I shipped my stoves to Philmont via UPS regular ground service. I live in NE Ohio and it took seven days to reach the ranch. On our return, I gave them to a friend in Pueblo, CO to ship back. She didn't realize that they were to go UPS and mailed them on a Saturday via Parcel Post. I had them back on the next Tuesday.
Just like the one post, I fretted while I watched the slow progress on the UPS tracking.

For light weight foot gear, I have worn a pair of Nike aqua socks. I used them around camp and to go to some programs. They have a little stiffer sole than some but are still quite light in weight. As far as a replacement in the event of boot failure they probably wouldn't be too great. Just make sure your boots are in good condition and you shouldn't have anything to worry about. In 12 trips to the ranch, I have seen only one boot failure and that was fixed with duct tape well enough to finish the trip.
