RE: [Philmont]: Camp shoes

A couple years ago I picked up a pair of water shoes from Sportsman's Guide
(www.sportsmansguide.com). They were their own "Guide Gear" brand, on sale
for $12.99. They are not a slip on, but have a tongue and laces. They were
a good compromise between lightweight and rugged. Great to walk around camp
and do activities in, but rugged enough to hike in if necessary. There may
be situations other than boot failure where you'd want to hike in something
other than your boots.

They gave my feet a nice break from my boots. I was very happy with them at
Philmont. I use them a lot for aquatic activities at home, too.
