You don't HAVE to provide the SS #. A few members of our 2003 Cavalcade
crew did not provide them. Same thing for our Kanik crew earlier this month.

Here is Philmont's answer to another situation. What if a parent refuses
to sign the Philmont "Talent Release Form" that each crew is supposed to
turn in during the check-in process? In that case, Philmont will still
let the youth member take part in the trek but the whole crew will be
excluded from any base camp or backcountry photos/videos which may take
place while the crew is at Philmont. The crew will still have an
opportunity to have a crew photo made at base camp before departing for
the backcountry, and each crew member will receive a copy of the photo.
