RE: [Philmont]: Trek dates question

Philmont starts 30 to 35 crews (maybe more now) every day.
Trek start usually about June 10 and end in early August
With an 8/4 date you will be starting on one of the last days for a full
length trek.
That means there may be less people in the back country because there will
be not be a full roster of crews starting every day you are on the trail.
Sometime in early August Philmont starts short treks of less than 11 days

Subject: [Philmont]: Trek dates question

Most of the postings where the trek date is mentioned seem to in June or
July. Our arrival date is 8/4. Can anyone give a rough idea of how the
treks are distributed - evenly across the whole season, increasing to a peak
in mid-summer then decreased toward the end of summer, or what? If the
distribution isn't even, any idea how many crews are on the trail late in
the summer vs. mid-summer?

Just curious.

Thanks,

Rick Cordray
