I've often wondered what Philmont considers "far" and "close"?
Do they do it in a circle, with both the east and west coasts early,
or do thy start east and move west, since the east is a little
bit further from them? Or perhaps they consider that there is
greater postal service capacity in the east and they can deliver
there a bit faster, so the west coast first? The possibilities
are endless.
In the end, it doesn't matter, there is no such thing as a
*bad* Philmont trek.
