WOW, the simple math is staggering..
35 treks, 2 crews per trek, 12 people per crew... 840 incoming
scouts/scouters per day.
Assume an 8 week summer session, 47,000 scouts/scouters per summer.
Once crews start returning from the trail, base camp would have almost 1,700
people.
Logistics would be monumental, and the backcountry would have to be
adversely impacted.
I too will stick with less than a 100% fill rate, and take my chances...
and I fully agree, "No bad treks at Philmont"
