Philmont keeps the stats, and I'm sure Calvin or Alan can provide them for last year. However, as you've already heard, many/most of the treks are about to undergo some changes, so there's not too much point in worrying about it now for 2006 (AT - did you mean 2005?). You can make a very solid guess any year, however, that the most popular treks will be those that are moderate to strenuous in difficulty level, climb Baldy, and come in over the Tooth of Time.

Well, I'm not sure I can "provide" them, but generally speaking Dr. Bob is right-on regarding the elements of the popular treks - Baldy and the Tooth.
My take on the least popular is more that they don't have attractions like Baldy or the Tooth than that they are "bad" treks.
Regarding distribution of crews on the available treks, in rough terms the most popular third of the treks get about 60% of the crews, the middle third get about a third of the crews, and the least popular third get about 7% of the crews. The individual most popular treks have two crew per day, every day; the least popular less than 10 total all summer There are a little more than 60 arrival dates.
And by the way, though I also was one who in the past warned that there would be many changes in 2005, I now understand the changes will be more in line with a typical year - a couple treks with significant changes and a couple with "tweaks". And realize that some of those changes will be to accomodate the new staff camp at Carson Meadows.
