RE: [Philmont] Philmyths

>>>If I die on the Ranch, I think I will haunt Clark's Fork or Miranda,
always my favorite camps. You'll know it's me from the faint, ghostly
sound of bad guitar playing.<<<

I can see it now... Some staff member off in the dark distance softly
playing the Philmont Hymn during the evening show at the cabin.

A murmur ripples through the crews, "What's that?"

"Oh, just the ghost of Dr. Bob." Replies the camp director. "He passed
away here years back in an ugly branding iron accident and hasn't left
yet. Some say that if you watch carefully on your way back to your site,
you may even see the dull red glow of the hot iron dancing through the
trees. Some say it's the horse brand, others the cattle brand. But I'd
like to think it's a running iron, 'cuse Dr. Bob was a bit of a rogue."

:-)

Bill "Uncle Willie" Vannerson

P.S. I've never actually met Dr. Bob so don't infer too much in the
tale. But I have appreciated his contributions to this list as they were
most helpful for our successful trek last summer. Thanks Dr. Bon.
