Any other big stories/tall tales from your rangers?
How about Mini-Bear Collection points?
"Everyone" knows that there are two types of mini-bears out at Philmont.
Base Camp & Back Country mini-bears. Base camp mini-bears become habituated
by living around the various base camp tent cities. Mini-bears in the back
country are generally larger and not as intelligent.
Base Camp mini-bears have been known to jump up underneath the buses as they
leave the welcome center in an attempt to sneak in to the back country.
Apparently there is some sort of plot to breed the perfect Mini-Bear, large and
intelligent.
A specially appointed task force made up of members of the Ranch Committee,
The World Scouting Movement and a special emissary from the Vatican. They
recommended that cattle guards be used to shake the mini-bears off of the bus.
When the mini-bears dropped off of the bus they would be captured and
returned to base camp each evenings by members of a special, secret branch of
Philmont's crack security team.
If it isn't true, it ought to be. :>)
