Campsite #4 at Aguila is actually one of my personal favorites -
shhh...don't tell anyone :) I remember sitting there for what seemed like
hours watching a thunderstorm off to the east over Urraca Mesa during Ranger
training in 1997 (that same storm circled around and pounded us shortly
thereafter). At almost any camp (especially smaller trail camps), the best
campsites are the ones you have to look for. At Ewell's Park, the campsites
surrounding the lower part of the meadow offer excellent views of Baldy. I
also really like some of the lesser-used trail camps: Deer Lake (not Deer
Lake MESA), Crags, Wild Horse, Lookout Meadow, Red Hills, Bear Caves, Devils
Wash Basin, etc...
One hike I really like (in addition to those originally mentioned) is Grouse
Canyon - though it's a fairly short stretch, the towering rock walls and
lush vegetation make it a really scenic hike.

In 2002 we had Fire Modified Trek that doesn't exist in the '02 Itinerary
Guide. Base Camp, Lovers Leap Camp, Aguila, Lower Bonita, Beaubien, Crooked
Creek, Comanche Peak Camp, Cimarroncito, Cimarroncito, Deer Lake Mesa,
Harlan, and Base Camp. Our 1st year Ranger had directed us to #4 at Aquila.
A good view to the ESE from 8300'overlooking Zastrow Turnaround at 7000'.
