RE: [Philmont]: Special Views

Be very careful with subscriptions to backpacker magazine.
After I first subscribed for one year, I received an "offer" to subscribe
for additional time at a certain discounted rate about six months after the
initial subscription. I did so for an additional two years. About six
months later, I got another notice that my subscription (now for a term of
three years) was about to end and I needed to renew, and I had forgotten I'd
renewed (or thought enough time had passed). SO I subscribed for an
additional 2 years. Six months later I got another notice that my
subscription was about to end. By this time, I figured out that I had a
term of five years and it would be another 3.5 years before it would end
from that date.
So, I sent them a note saying I had another 3.5 years left and why are they
sending me this.
I've not heard from them in the last three years, but continue to receive
the magazine.
I'm curious to see if I receive another renewal notice in the next six
months :-)
